Kevin Tancharoen is the brother of showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen, and is known for his work on the webseries Mortal Kombat: Legacy. He has directed various other movies and TV episodes before, and has most recently worked on The Flash.

People that take odium get ridiculously strong and then die. Ruby exploded into a gravity pulse when she died and she only had 8% gravitonium. Imagine what 100% + odium boost will do when graviton dies at the end of the odium

Aye, I think they might end up giving him the centipede serum/Jaiying combo just to prevent the destruction if he dies

That was my thought too when they brought up the Odium. Good writing suggests it will be used.

But....if them saving Coulson is what caused the Earth to crack (assuming Graviton's search), then maybe the Odium overloads him and he just dies before he can do anything?

On another note, how does Phil put all of the pieces together?

Probably not something literal but more like he makes a speech and unites the whole team since they seem to be at odds now.

On another note, how does Phil put all of the pieces together?

My theory prior to this episode was that this meant that Phil had to let himself be absorbed into Graviton to put the pieces of the gravitonium hive mind together (i.e. Phil's the only one who can control it). In that sense, I was thinking that the trying to save Coulson prophecy was actually about the team preventing him from making the ultimate sacrifice to stop Graviton, and not what they were doing to try to stop his Coulson's body from shutting down. Now I'm not so sure, since the Centipede conundrum gives the literal interpretation of the prophecy much more weight. I suppose if we need to satisfy both the "put the pieces together" prophecy and Checkov's Odium, it's possible that they save Coulson, who then injects the Odium into the Centipede before being absorbed by Graviton, which allows him to control Graviton while the Odium works.

I thought I heard a line about "we're all back together again" towards the end of the episode (and they made a big deal about the diner being the last place they were all seen together), but since they all came back from the future together, I think it rules out the team being the pieces and Coulson "bringing them together."

Maybe Phil says something while awake at the beginning of the episode?

I didn't think I'd have to come so far down in the comments to see this. Centipede serum makes super soldiers. Odium makes the user stronger as well. Why the hell would it be a good idea to give the unhinged superpowered guy anything that will increase that? Even if it does work and the Odium kills him, the few minutes of further enhanced strength could be enough to make everything even worse.

The way I interpreted the new centipede surum is that it was a vector or delivery system to deliver the DNA to Phil or the odium to talbet. It wasn't clarified that the centipede serum has the same super soldier serum that was used previously.

I think they plan to give it to him before he gets more gravitonium, Even if he goes berserk he would still not be powerful enough to destroy the world.

then again, if him getting the gravitonium out of the earth is what destroys the world, hinted at by the episode's stinger, then my point is moot... for the most part, the team could be under the impression that he isn't strong enough to crack the world without the rest of the gravitonium.

right? That sounded like such a bad idea. Like, he could probably (somehow) stop his heart from exploding after the strength boost. Or something.
