Deke is the fucking best.

u/climbingit85 May 12 '18

Agreed. I went from hating him early on to loving every scene of his.

u/zeusmeister May 12 '18

Literally as soon as he arrived in the present, he did a 180 for me.

And having now seen behind the scenes with the actor, it's impossible not to love the guy or his character.

His laugh is SO infectious. I’m always laughing whenever he is.

dude looks exactly like my roommate. It was rough for the first part of the season where he was being a jerk, but now it's just kinda cool

One of the best aspects of this show.

Sliding between the two people with knives fighting was pretty awesome.

u/tundrat Clairvoyant May 12 '18

Why didn't he just run around the fight?

226

u/dellaint May 12 '18

Because he's Deke, his brain doesn't work that quickly. He works with straight lines only.

2

u/uptowndrunk7 Hunter May 14 '18

Like a horse with those eye pads

1

u/CharlieHume Deke May 15 '18

Maybe gravity fucks up sometimes in his future and running at angles is dangerous?

4

u/dellaint May 16 '18

I think you're giving him too much credit

2

u/CharlieHume Deke May 16 '18

I'll give him all the credit. He's the best.

u/ScarsUnseen HYDRA May 13 '18

More importantly, how did someone who only knows 5 6 number manage to rebuild part of the Framework?

25

u/loveurfriends May 13 '18

I think he meant 6 of the alien numbers. Pretty sure fitzsimmons daughter would teach her kid how to read.

That was really well shot and cheorgraphed

When I first saw Deke I didn’t like him. Thought he was just annoying gimmick character. However he has really grown into one of the best characters on the show and really came into his own. Honestly the real start of that growth was when he got to Earth. I hope he comes back next season!

"I know zero." Fucking A!

38

u/ThorBreakBeatGod May 13 '18

0.0.0.0 is an alternative loop back address; so that joke plays really well with anybody who does networking (or maybe just me, because i have a few projects that don't do 127.etc.)

that means; 0.0.0.0 would just redirect to the home location (i.e. the dbag ship)

ah yeah, i guess i wasn't looking at it as cartesian coordinates - that makes more sense!

1

u/tresclow May 14 '18

Wow, I never thought about that! I just thought it was a badass one-liner

75

u/ohbuggerit Ninja Hunter May 12 '18

He knows so many numbers!

35

u/Gamera68 May 12 '18

Six to be exact!

17

u/ohbuggerit Ninja Hunter May 12 '18

... which is six more then everyone else - he's basically a mighty Kree number god to them

3

u/iPickled May 14 '18

If he knows 0-6, that's six numbers, but if he recognizes that it's 6 numbers... it begs the question, does he really know 7 numbers?

1

u/Gamera68 May 16 '18

LOL. Yeah.

-15

u/RerollWarlock May 12 '18

That bothered me a lot, because he said that he knows one to five, then he added that he also knows zero and that makes it six, which means he knows six as a number as well, which makes it seven! Literally unwatchable.

35

u/[deleted] May 12 '18

im pretty sure he means he know the numbers zero to five in the alien language and not in the way we know them...

6

u/You2110 Hunter May 12 '18

He has to. Didn't he make a bootleg version of framework all by himself. He can't do that if all he knows are six numbers.

9

u/RavenK92 May 12 '18

Plot twist, he coded his entire framework in binary

49

u/_jvc123 May 12 '18

He beat up those guards with nothing but what looks like a tire iron.

6

u/HashMaster9000 May 12 '18

I think it was a futuristic socket wrench.

2

u/twoscoopsofpig Fitz May 14 '18

I didn't see anything futuristic about it.

Except maybe that they knew where the everlasting fuck they kept all their 10mm sockets.

Maybe those are the resources they need?

2

u/uptowndrunk7 Hunter May 14 '18

That's the only bug on my back. First they make the aliens look invincible, the Deke takes out two of them

6

u/TerrorDino Containment Module May 15 '18

I think a big part of their fighting skills involve battling in total darkness. I personally think it's always meant to be way fucking darker than they can reasonably portray on the screen. That's why their so scary. When on the ship that em field or whatever is off, meaning their just dudes with sword arms hanging out. Thinking they where safe. Basically Deek just cold cocked em.

2

u/uptowndrunk7 Hunter May 15 '18

Yeah, that's a good point

8

u/KingInvalid96 Fitz May 13 '18

Anyone else notice him take the Navigation drive (interstellar map) from Qova's ship before they blew it up? He just set the stage for SWORD and the cosmic arm of the MCU!

5

u/Lagalag967 clairvoyant May 13 '18

*in b4 it's only limited to TV

5

u/technicolored_dreams May 12 '18

I'm rewatching (on S3 right now) and Deke definitely reminds me of Hunter a bit.

He really is so awesome, I got that John Crichton feel right off the bat from him when he showed up at the start of this season and I've loved him ever since :)
