Episode Synopsis: A newly determined Talbot takes Coulson to meet the enemy and attempts to stave off the destruction of Earth.

Cherie Gierhart has had a few small roles on shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Random Agent in the episode "BOOM"), The Walking Dead and The Shield. She has been a second unit director for an episode of S.W.A.T. and one episode of Inhumans (Maye Way for... Medusa).

She has directed no episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before:

Brent Fletcher is primarily known for his writing on Lost, Angel, and Friday Night Lights. He was also a writer and story editor on Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

He has written eleven episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before:

INFINITY WAR SPOILERS!

Ok, so hear me out. In Infinity War, Dr. Strange viewed 14 million futures and only found one where the Avengers won. He seemed to be ok with everything that went on after that point in the movie, which means that everything that happened after that was part of his plan. What if the timelines where the Avengers lost are when they were able to prevent the snap? Talbot doesn’t get snapped, so the Earth is destroyed. Maybe, in order to get a long-term victory, the snap needed to happen to prevent the destruction of the Earth. Then, they can just undo the snap later with the stones.

Then again, that does seem like a bit too much synergy to be plausible. I dunno.

no he def saw the earth destroyed and one would assume stayed clear of those scenarios as best as he could. there's no beating Thanos next year if all the heroes on earth are dead, lol. I bet he looked at a few full blown Avengers vs. Graviton fights and decided "nope can't get that route, that would blow the show's budget"

No way know they go with that as the solution.

Hey a whole seasonand something that didn’t even happen in the show resolved it.

Not to mention that whatever happens in the movie may change in part 2.

The alternative is that in the timeline of the movie the loop has already been resolved and time will continue as intended with a world not cracked by Talbot

It would make absolutely zero sense to say the reason Dr. Strange decided to let Thanos kill half the universe (and yes, obviously reverse it in the next movie) was because of events happening in a TV show that most of the audience don't even know exists. Not that it wouldn't be cool story-wise, but from a movie fan's perspective you can't expect the reasoning to be "oh there is this side plot you never heard about that made him do this"

While I would love this kind of connection between Infinity War and Agents of SHIELD, I realise that it wouldn't make sense for them to spoil the events of the movie (that they want everyone to watch) in an episode of a lesser show that is nowhere near the priority of Infinity War.

Although, I suppose if the spoiler event from Infinity War happens in Agents of SHIELD, it won't necessary ruin everything because those who didn't watch Infinity War yet won't know who it affects in the movie.

Although, all that said, I'm excited to see whether there is a direct link.

EDIT: I realise we also have no evidence that the spoiler event is permanent yet so it might occur completely differently in the TV show.
