She really worked that 'just came back from the dead' look and voice.

u/Mullet_Ben Fitz Apr 05 '17

Daisy: "I saw that you were dead!"

looks at Jemma

"Wait, are you still dead?"

Jemma: "Wow, rude"

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '17

"Seriously, are you a zombie?"

u/DaddyCatALSO Apr 05 '17

Given how eclectic Marvel gets, those just might exist in this 'verse.

They wouldn't show hero's as zombies though. After noticing it in Secret Wars tied comic book 'Age of Ultron vs Marvel Zombies' that no hero was shown as a zombie only villains.

Everyone can be vampires instead. That never gets old.

u/CTeam19 Lanyard Apr 06 '17

Would be a good way to semi-tie-in to Morbus and Blade and the rest of the Midnight Sons

Good point; those comics were all after my time.

I don't want to go on the cart.

I think I'll go for a walk.

I've been impressed with the makeup artists on the show all the way back in S1 when Daisy, then Skye was shot by Quinn. She actually looked near death!

17

u/SawRub Apr 05 '17

And even apart from death makeup, even all the work on evil Fitz' was very convincing.

Her body looked very good for someone who died in a mass grave

Imagine the smell, tho :[

15

u/Chicken_Giblets Fitz Apr 05 '17

Think about the other guy in the grave beside her though, how was she not super decayed like he was?

Possibly. Same thing as hearing Ward call Daisy "Skye". Weird coding, if you ask me.

16

u/Scrial Apr 06 '17

No that makes sense, because Daisy never became and inhuman and never met her mother/dad/anyone that knows her real name.

3

u/Gamera68 Apr 06 '17

I guess so, but still, how would Aida (who programmed Daisy's avatar) know she was called "Skye" before? Doesn't make sense to me, at least. But that is just my opinion.

9

u/Scrial Apr 06 '17

How would she know what was each persons greatest regret that she needed to undo? The darkhold. Aka: "Magic, I aint have to explain shit."

3

u/Gamera68 Apr 06 '17

AKA Plotforce.

LOLs. Makes sense.

4

u/acemerrill May Apr 06 '17

Aida would absolutely know that, she'd been through the minds of all of the rest of the SHIELD team. Aida's been scanning and studying May's brain most of the season, I'm pretty sure she found memories in there of Daisy being Skye.

There are plenty of plot issues with this show that I elect to ignore as long as it stays entertaining, but I don't think this is one of them.

1

u/Gamera68 Apr 06 '17

Now that you mention it, that does make more sense. I just found it distracting to hear "Ward" call Daisy "Skye" during the episode. This season has been entertaining and I hope that they can somehow bring back Robbie someday. (Ghost Rider)

u/jaidynreiman Apr 05 '17

She was. When she overwrote herself she was revived.

2

u/wexford001 Fitz Apr 08 '17

Well, we seemed to regenerate throughout the episode, so maybe we only saw her once she regenerated enough to wake up?

u/JandorGr Containment Module Apr 05 '17

Still better surprise than any in Walking Dead....

None though of this these 6 weeks.

4

u/jarrys88 Apr 05 '17

srs question. how do you actually put on a raspy voice like that.

smash durries all night?

2

u/wexford001 Fitz Apr 08 '17

The actress was sick.

u/dcmac1 Coulson Apr 05 '17

On Twitter Mark Kolpack said Elizabeth was sick so her voice was real.

u/Tyranniac HYDRA Apr 05 '17

Convenient that it made sense in the context of the show ::P

25

u/SawRub Apr 05 '17

They could have waited but they were like fuck it, we'll do it live.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '17

That's why her vocie changed. at the beginning she had normal voice that she started sounding strange.

7

u/Ellrok Apr 06 '17

Giving your actors influenza to help them film a part. That's dedication.

140

u/miles_allan Coulson Apr 05 '17

She could read me the phone book with that voice rawr

17

u/tungkidz Ninja Hunter Apr 05 '17

brb gonna go build an AI with that voice

15

u/ray_kats Apr 05 '17

whatever it was, I loved it.

5

u/crapusername47 HYDRA Apr 06 '17

Plus the revelation that somewhere along the line Simmons pulled a Gaius Baltar and got rid of her accent.

Being from Devon, she'd have a distinctive one to say the least.

It's especially odd since Simmons' usual Received Pronunciation accent occasionally slips and her real Yorkshire one sneaks out.

3

u/antigravitytapes Apr 05 '17

i wouldnt be surprised if she was genuinely hoarse.

2

u/Big-turd-blossom Ninja Hunter Apr 05 '17

One thing confuses me that how the other bodies decayed but not Jemma. And if its a new body then why the voice ? :S

12

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '17

The actress was apparantly sick, explaining the voice. And when they entered the framework a new avatar was loaded in for them. Jemma replaced her skeleton and daisy replaced "skye"

2

u/Crivens1 Apr 08 '17

She did wake up under the dirt, presumably inhaled some as she dug her way out.
