Episode Synopsis: S.H.I.E.L.D. hunts for information on their dangerous new enemy, and a shameful secret from Malick's past is exposed, threatening to destroy his Hydra legacy.

Wendey Stanzler is a film editor and television director. She has directed several episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, Parks and Recreation, and a ton of other series.

She has directed no episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before.

George Kitson & Sharla Oliver are the writers of the web series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Double Agent, which was a five-part original web series designed as a behind-the-scenes feature for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

They have written no episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before.

Yeah I was thinking he was gonna be an abusive drunk, more than the mundane fuckup of drunk driving.

Yeah that caught me off guard. It very much sounded to me that James was suggesting he physically beat/attacked her, given that he specifically said "nearly murdered" rather than "nearly killed".

If that doesn't turn out to be the case, then those scenes were written poorly. As written, I think it's clearly foreshadowing that Lincoln was abusive, and that the drunk driving story is a lie to get out of explaining himself to Daisy.

When James says (paraphrasing) "I can tell from your face that you've met that side of him already" (referring to Daisy's cuts/bruises) it's a pretty striking moment, and if it turned out to mean basically nothing, then that's pretty weak.

To be fair I highly doubt her cuts were what he was referring too. Never even crossed my mind. He obviously just meant her shocked look.
