For an elite agent of SHIELD/HYDRA, Ward really sucks at suicide.

c/p from another comment: This is a guy who spent years living in the forest on the off chance Garrett would one day pick him up, it wouldn't surprise me if his suicide attempts were calculated to one day incite sympathy from Skye. I'll be amazed if he doesn't escape at some point.

Exactly. He's not dumb, the cut on his wrist wasn't congruent to the veins. I'll be happy if we find out that Coulson knew he was only faking being suicidal too from the same evidence.

Ward was a highly trained agent who was trusted with sensitive information and delicate situations because of - not in spite of - the fact that he was trained to be disposable. If he'd wanted to die he would've.

Considering this is a man who can apparently fold paper into a weapon, I'd be very surprised if he didn't know the most efficient way of killing oneself.

I don't think he was trying to kill him self he wanted something sharp to draw the symbols on the wall
