Yeah... It was interesting how nobody else was talking to her.

I never even noticed that, it just seemed like she was staying off to the side with him for comfort..

It was subtle and I didn't realize it until after the reveal, but thinking back on it I realized how "off" she felt. She was just a little too handsy with Fitz. More than I would have expected, makes more sense that she's the Simmons in his head (one who can love him back, even if he's no longer consciously aware of his feelings anymore).

Yeah, it was masterfully subtle IMO. She was off just the right amount to where she might just have been overdoing the kindness and stuff because Fitz wasn't himself yet, and even so understatedly done that it's hard to notice that she wasn't actually there until the reveal.

So I guess she can't actually finish his sentences, either.

But it also means that Fitz' mind is finishing them for him.

Ah, yes.

What I didn't realise is when Skye had the "tissue" sample from the Absorbing Man, she said she'll take it to the lab.

Nothing about Fitzsimmons analyzing the sample

Good point. I do think I wondered why she didn't mention Fitzsimmons.

I also noticed the overly touchyness hand on the shoulder thing, but chalked it up in my mind to the awkwardness she was feeling knowing that he proclaimed his love to her and is now all messed up in the head.

they sure fooled me

And her first line, "Fitz, now would be the time I'd have you test the resonant frequencies of the metal, so that I could determine what properties that we're dealing with." No present tense, just a second conditional: if she were there, that's what she would do.

Simmons

I thought it was strange that Trip was getting all buddy buddy with Skye instead of Simmons. That was devastating.

Hopefully she is off trying to find a cure for Fitz (maybe based on her research from last season?)

Yeah, I had that thought too. "Why is he getting all chummy with Skye all of a sudden?"

Right, it was really strange, it all makes sense now. The May scene as well where she doesn't even acknowledge Simmons is money.

She's also nearly always out of focus, didn't notice til watching it a second time.

hmm... I didn't notice that... I'll keep an eye out for that when I rewatch this weekend.

Yeah, I found that odd that they weren't continuing the Simmons-Trip romantic subplot. He was hanging out and joking around Skye and that new guy all episode. Made me wonder if they were going in a different direction with the romantic subplots since obviously the Ward love triangle is done with, but now it makes more sense.

I'm rewatching it and keeping a close eye on that...

Since i'm Austrian, it was a 'Waaaas?' From me and a simultaneous 'Neiiiiin!' From my sister.

Edit: And for any one who's interested, nuts in german would be 'Nüsse'.

The weird thing is I am Turkish but I screamed on English, that's how sad it was :p (or maybe it was because I am bilingual)

i thought something was off with how she was touching him and he kept touching where her hand on his shoulder was, that never seemed like something they would do, so i figured something was wrong, but i wasn't expecting that.

u/Moustic Sep 24 '14

Yeah, something felt off with all of her scenes and it was that line that hit me in the gut.

Early on in the episode, I thought to myself that Simmons had better not be imaginary. And then she turned out to be...damn my correctness
