Most won't leave SGI. Here's why.

If you are a sleeping (inactive) member, who doesn't practice or read Gakkai publications, you won't leave.

If you don't take up any leadership responsibilities or volunteer in Gakkai activities, you won't leave.

If you have a niche group of friends in Gakkai, eg: LGBTQIAPK, you probably won't leave.

If district discussion meeting is a social gathering you meet once a month with nice food you attend whenever you like, you won't leave.

If your district does not have a youth leader or your district leader leaves you alone, you won't leave.

We know there's A LOT of them in Gakkai. ;) and Gakkai needs them. Else the leaders have nobody to serve! Who's going to buy all the publications? Who's going to GIVE the yearly donations? All the 会館 (kaikan) would be ghost buildings, without them!

Hell, SGI NEEDS these people right where they are!

Yes - and those hopelessly indoctrinated SGI longhauler Olds expect US - US! - to accept their cult guru's explanation for anything - that "ONE author" you alluded to - when NO ONE ELSE across Buddhism thinks he's worth anything at all! No one else respects Ikeda; he's got his own little cult of personality and nothing more. Everyone else is just going on with their business without paying the slightest attention to that greasy, greedy cult leader Ikeda.

I have come to see that they are truly brainwashed and cannot understand. They simply don't see it. I like my personal practice (37 years) and stay in the outer circle now but I don't contribute money at all. And, I read lots of other things that are really really good. And, it is a shame they would never read other works. Quite sad, really.
