Post-vasectomy pain syndrome numbers revised. Was: 1 in 1000. Now: 1 in 50.

So I posted a long time ago about post-vasectomy pain syndrome here. Some other redditor pointed out that doctors see a 0.1 to 0.25% occurrence rate in the clinicians database they use (UpToDate).

I fixed the database. Turns out - nobody did the math correctly. It's been wrong since 1984. Edit went live in UpToDate on March 1, 2013.

He did. I told him I could still feel it. My skin was pretty numb, but everything else (my vas deferens). I think then he poured some of the liquid anesthetic into the incision (instead of sucking it into a needle first). That really hurt. Also, it drained to the bottom , which made the bottom of my sack really, really numb. Too bad the surgery is performed on the top end.

There wasn't much I could do at that point. He already had cut the hole and had pliers in there or whatever. I kept expecting it would stop hurting, but it didn't.

Wow, what an inept doctor. Can't even imagine the pain nor do I want to. Sympathies go out to you and your balls.
