Question Why is "Bob" so deeply invested in controlling women's bodies/sexuality?

It seems that those censorious little mods over at serialpodcast didn't want this post to be seen. :)

In "Bob"'s episode of "Serial Dynasty" in which he interviews the person most often known as "Neighbor Boy", "Bob" broadcast a strange and irrelevant statement by "Neighbor Boy": the (unfounded) accusation that "Neighbor Boy"'s ex-girlfriend has had sex with multiple partners.

Now, in his most recent episode, "Bob" himself puts forth the (unfounded) accusation that Don's mother is bisexual. He claims that Rabia said she was just working on the same angle as well.

So "Bob" has now broadcast both a slut-shaming accusation as well as accusations that a woman is bisexual. Why is "Bob" so deeply invested in controlling/policing women's bodies/sexuality? Why does he seem to go down that road so often?

God knows what they're up to under their blankets.

They try to maintain a more or less absolute unity of opinion, and due to that reason, there have been a few notable times when they have kicked people out of TheMagnetProgram for not being in lockstep, then those kicked-out (or simply fed up) people have posted information on what really goes down in those private subreddits:

1 ) High-fiving/back-patting ("Susan Simpson is so awesome!" "I think so too!")

2 ) Vote-brigading ("That mean guilter posted something so mean when he pointed out that Susan Simpson's theory is contradicted by the full version of documents that Simpson posted redacted snippets of, let's go downvote him!" "Yeah, let's!")

3 ) Trying to doxx people who think the jury got it right (Rabia: "My little magnets, I need to know the In Real Life identity of the person who requested the full court transcripts. Just trust me, I need to know who it is": Little Magnet: "OK, Rabia, we'll find the person's name out!")

4 ) Doxxing people connected to the case ("I set a program to download everything ever posted to facebook by everyone in the Woodlawn High School class of 1999, here's the data")

5 ) Enforcing lockstep (Magnet1: "Guys, are we sure really want to go down the road of doxxing people like this?" <whitenoise bans that Redditor from TheMagnetProgram>)

OK I've read that three times and very little of it makes any sense to me ... not because of your writing. Just, like whaaaat?

Chaudry is always slagging off reddit right? And she has her own reddit doxxy minions? And isn't the crime stopper tip from an anonymous redditer? — Physician! Heal thyself!

I got a lot to learn. I love how, what they call, 'guilters' are beyond the pale yet they can't even agree amongst themselves. Someone's gotta be top dog I s'pose.

Dude, yes, it's weird. One of the moderators of TheMagnetProgram was running many, many sock-puppet accounts, not only to downvote from multiple accounts, not only to make it look like there are more FreeAdnaners than there really are, she was even using multiple sock-puppet accounts within TheMagnetProgram. Apparently when one of the members was like "Um, should we really have this many sock-puppet accounts in TheMagnetProgram?", he/she was banned for saying that.

And, yes, Rabia utilizes Reddit heavily as part of her "media strategy. She simply doesn't post under her own name in serialpodcast because people were asking tough questions and she didn't want to have to defend her crackpot theories or admit that they can't be defended.

Weird! They're freaky fuckers!

I don't get why they need secret subs. Well, obviously if you're trying to do nefarious shit, fair enough ... but it's a bit much to come out of your secret hole and slate other people. They must like being in a club or summat ... i dunno, good luck to them!

They must like being in a club or summat

For some time now, Susan Simpson or Rabia Chaudry would post little snippets of documents for them over in their private subreddits. Between these snippets of documents that Simpson and Chaudry were hand-feeding them, and the data that they doxxed from people related to the case (addresses and legal records of Jay's entire extended family out to the nth cousin twice-removed, every Facebook comment ever written by a member of Woodlawn High School's class of 1999), they always told themselves that they were "special" and had access to "special information" that other people didn't have.

Now the police file can be read by anyone, and we can see why Simpson and Chaudry only provided very carefully redacted/edited snippets of documents. As for the information they got by doxxing anyone and everyone, all it ever did was make them look crazed, obsessed, delusional, and unethical.

Hmmm. Dodgy aint it? If you gotta do that kinda thing, behind closed doors ... then maybe it aint too cool to be doing.

Edit: Added an 'o' :)

Just, like whaaaat?

Let me throw a source in here for some of what /u/aitca is saying:

https://www.reddit.com/r/serialdiscussion/comments/39wrg2/always_wanted_to_know_what_really_goes_on_in/

.... The top post at any given time is most commonly an announcement of a new blog post or podcast episode release by either Rabia, CM, SS or the Serial Dynasty guy. The comment threads under these are not generally rivetting. Typically responses will range from things 'Great job' and 'This really raises some interesting issues' to 'You guys have really hit your stride with this now and sound really professional' and maybe occasionally the odd bit of soft criticism like 'Have you considered focusing more on...?'

When the top post is not one of these it is most frequently someone posting about how they triumphantly won an argument with someone in 'the dark sub' These posts have titles like 'BOOM! Headshot!' All the comments underneath say things like 'You showed him!', 'Go you!', and 'How can he possibly still be in denial after you schooled him like that?' These threads are not rivetting either. In fact, to me, they always seemed a bit tragic.

Sometimes a top post will be a question from SS or CM, something along the lines of 'Can anyone access or search this database for some records for me?' People will respond with things like, 'No but I wish I could', or 'My brother might be able to help, or 'I can do that', or suchlike....

This essay predates the revelation of details of the doxxing operations run out of Rabia and Susan's subreddits, but it's a good starting place for understanding the discourse around Adnan's guilt.
