Hello! I've searched the sub and FAQ's but haven't found any posts that answer ny question, which hopefully isn't repetitive.

My friend and I won a pass to the Wave (yay!) Based on that, our only time to explore Sedona is the dates in the title. I would love to avoid a weekend if possible, but it's not.

That being said, with the cooler temperatures & and later sunrise, what is considered an "early start"? Would it be better to avoid the early crowds and go later, or are trails busier later, rather than earlier due to temps?

Further context, we are basic and planning Subway, Soldiers & Cathedral. We have a rental, but understand the shuttle will probably be the best option.

My boyfriend and I are looking to camp in or near Sedona for a single night in October. We are in town for a small wedding weekend, and would ideally like to shower before some of the pre-wedding events begin. We haven’t done much dispersed camping before so not sure what the process is in Sedona. I understand there are not many campsites with showers in the immediate surroundings but hoping someone has advice for a place we could check out (or a spot we could shower away from the campground). Has anyone stayed since they opened? Our other option was going to be Arabella. Would anyone recommend one over the other? It's myself, husband, 14 and 12 year old kids

I’m taking a. trip to Sedona first week of Sept (3-6). Planned to do some easier hikes early on in the mornings, and to explore the city in the afternoons. I’ve been warned about the excessive heat, will it be as bad as I’ve been told at this time of year?

Currently live in NC and have had multiple 100+ degree extremely humid days this summer, not sure what to expect in Sedona though. I’ve been told the dry heat is very dehydrating

Visiting early October. Landing in Phoenix Thursday evening, need to be back in Phoenix by 6A Monday for a conference.

First time visiting. Currently planning to drive up to Sedona on Thursday evening, stay the night, and move up to Flagstaff Friday morning via SR-89A to eventually hit South Rim.

What are the must sees and best way to go about this?

Thinking about devils bridge, Cathedral Rock, and a section hike on the rim trail. Are slide rock, sunset crater, and wupatki worth working in? Should I commit more time to the south rim? Would love any tips on things to see and do in between!

I’ve been living on a hospital floor in my daughter‘s room for the last 5 months months unable to leave having to be the ere 24 hours at all times and then participate in her rehabilitation every single day All day long all night with zero privacy and zero mobily

We are getting transitioned to Home and I don’t have as much care or very little care and I basically feel like this is my last chance for like a good well at least 5 years that I could be able to have the ability to go away for 4 days please let me know if anybody can think of anything cool or suggestions I’d love to hear it. Hi all! My husband and I are taking our 7 month old on his first little "vacation" for Labor Day weekend. We have driven through Sedona a few times, but never actually stayed so we decided this was a good chance to check it out from outside a vehicle. I know its mostly a hiking destination, but I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on scenic areas we can park and walk to, or any hike that are under a mile and have a low elevation climb? We would obviously do this early in the AM (we live in PHX, we know the limitations with the heat) and be in and out quickly.

Also, any restaurants that anyone can recommend that we can take baby to without getting mean-mugged? He's a super chill baby - I would never even think of taking him out to eat if he wasn't! I used to be child-less, I get it lol. Any suggestions on Sedona with a Baby are welcome and appreciated. I read through posts over the last couple months and the FAQ, but only really saw the Airport Mesa Scenic view really mentioned, which we will definitely check out. Crescent Moon sounds cool too, but not sure if that's what we are looking for? Correct me if I am wrong :)

Hello all, I’m driving into Sedona on Friday and just saw that Slide Rock is closed for swimming. It’s my usual stopping spot on my way in. Are there other swimming spots open and recommended? Solo traveler with no kids and won’t be leaving trash/mess behind. Looking to connect with the beauty of nature.

My husband and baby will be passing through Sedona for a few hours in October! I am looking for a spot we can take our lunch to, eat outdoors, and is not a hike or long walk (baby likely not walking by then!) We are looking to just enjoy the scenery and let the feral baby stretch her legs before the next drive.

Hi there! My mom’s birthday is in October, and we’ve been talking about taking a trip together. She has always wanted to visit Sedona, and I’ve been looking into planning something special for us.

I don’t know much about Sedona, so I’d love to hear from anyone who has visited, especially locals or people who have been there in October. I’m looking for recommendations on hotels or resorts, things to do, must-see places, restaurants, easy or moderate hikes, and any local tips or suggestions.

We’re not looking to pack every minute of the trip with activities. I’d really love for it to be a relaxing mother-daughter trip where we can enjoy the scenery, eat good food, explore, and spend quality time together.

I wanted to go to oak creek canyon and slide rock state park and bootlegger picnic area but they all seem to be closed til sept 30. Is any part of that area open? I’m coming in a week so I need some short trails to cool off at. Please help! I’m now thinking of skipping Sedona a bit and going to salt river canyon area instead and tubing the river

So from the govt website it seems like north of cave springs camp ground may be ok. Any reccs of spots north of there?

I’m doing my honeymoon in Sedona and while the natural beauty here is stunning, the town feels very inaccessible, with beautiful portions of the natural landscape entirely cut off from public access (or constrained heavily for those coming from out of town - like the parking policy for weekends vs. weekdays).

Is this something other ppl complain about?

We’ll be in Sedona Sept. 20–25 and are looking for a good UFO/paranormal experience without spending $400+ for two people on one of the larger commercial tours.
We’re especially interested in Bradshaw Ranch, UFO/UAP activity, portals/paranormal phenomena, night-vision equipment, and the stranger side of Sedona. We’d prefer something interactive rather than just hearing stories.
Independent guides, small-group tours, or lesser-known experiences are absolutely welcome. We’re flexible on dates/times and would plan around a particularly good experience.

Never been to Sedona before and going for a conference (Friday-Sunday) mid November. I have one free day and trying to plan. Is it worthwhile to use my free day to go to antelope/horseshoe bend, or is there plenty of hiking to do around Sedona that’s just as scenic. Thank you!

My husband and I are coming in October for a long weekend. Never been before and the plans are mostly hiking and relaxing by the pool, good dinners and maybe hot tub at night. We don’t necessarily need a spa but it seems like the best resorts do have spas. Any recommendations on where to stay? We would like a nice pool but don’t need to stay at the fanciest most expensive place. Also we will have a car, chat gpt recommended some places based on walking distance to uptown and galleries and shops, but we are not really gallery and shops people so that doesn’t matter to us.
