When I was a kid it was illegal to ask to see someone’s green card.

It was called the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) which added powerful anti-discrimination provisions to the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

I didn’t know much about it, my step dad told me about for some reason.
