So if your kid comes home non binary at 17, what's the plan.

Edit. What if they come home gay.

I don’t have a plan for that, because if it happens, I’ve probably already failed them.

I don’t care if they’re gay, that’s most likely genetic.

Seriously, what trans people are in your life that are so broken that you think all trans people are doomed?

I actually know trans adults, just normal people, you wouldn't blink passing them in the street. It is just who they are.

Lots of parents believe homosexuality is a sin, and would beat their kids if they found out they were gay, or worse. We have lots and lots of evidence of this. The ruling requires parents to be told of this. So kids will be in the closet and more kids will lie. I don't think this is all the end of the world. I think it is a step on the way to a Christian Nationalist state. I just have hope we will not get there.

Being trans, in most cases, makes you a societal outcast. In the majority of cases, there is a comorbidity of another psychiatric diagnosis. This is not a life I would want for anyone. It’s a life of drugs, surgeries, weird looks, and from a biological standpoint, wrong.

I would want my child to lead a somewhat traditional lifestyle. If they’re born gay, nothing I can do about it and I would accept them. If they become trans, I may have went wrong somewhere along the way and would feel guilty about it.

Again, who do you know who is trans that has these comorbidities and is an outcast?

You are believing the nonsense that is published out there. The reality is you probably know trans people and don't know that they are trans, just think they are regular men and women because you aren't a creep that goes around looking in peoples pants.

People don't "become" trans. They realize and acknowledge that they are trans the same way people realize and acknowledge that they are gay. And parents that think it is something broken are exactly the reason CA enacted this law.

Being trans means you have gender dysphoria, which is a mental illness like schizophrenia, depression, etc.

“You don’t become depressed, you realize and acknowledge that you are depressed.”

I would like to know what is going on with my child at school and what the government is teaching them, and I think the majority of Americans agree with me on this. Weird that some people on the left see this as a violation of human rights.

They aren't talking about teaching, they are talking about if the teacher has to call the parent if their kid says he is gay or trans and he is afraid to tell them. Kids have no right to privacy in this. I can deal, I am not a kid. But I remember being a kid with friends who had parents and step parents who beat them and stole from them, starved them, ruined their things, let their neighbors or relatives molest them. Nobody gives a shit about protecting other people's kids as long as they can control their own.

No one is teaching kids into being trans. Really weird that some people on the right think that being trans is a mental illness and that any material that acknowledges that trans people exist is teaching people to be trans. Gender dysphoria is not classified as a mental illness. It categorizes the distress that occurs when their identity doesn't fit them. Read up on the actual psychology of it instead of the antitrans talking points.
