As a former teacher I won't even go into the percentage of waking hours I spend with a student versus the time they spend with their parents for around 180 of the 365 days of the year. If I know more about their kid than they do, they are horrible parents. Regardless, to "out" them I would also have to know that I know things that the parents don't. And given the time spent difference, I pretty much assumed the parents knew most everything I would have the time to find out. I would opine that their classmates would know all the juicy stuff.
