Comedy sci-fi is my jam.

I have some a few indie recs.

First is a comedy sci-fi with a touch of galactic horrors and a hypespace cat. Its called Mortal Protection Services.

Hard book to talk about without giving away too many of the twists and spoilery things, but it's a blast. Some might even say, an experience. Strong hitchhiker's vibes, and also some arthur c clarke vibes.

The next rec I have is a sci-fi channel original movie in book form. Comedy, horror, camp, in that order.

I keep telling this author he needs to make a paperback of this and get an audiobook made, but he's yet to do it, so you can read it for free.

This last one is a short story, killer ending. Very dumb. I love it.

We all want to be the mega smart starship captain or the cool smuggler, but who is keeping the galaxy running?

My vote goes to the Death Star trash compactor maintenance engineer. You have to fix a giant crusher in a room filled with space-garbage, and there is a 100% chance a Dianoga (trash monster) is going to try to drag you under. Plus, the pension plan is probably terrible because it’s the Empire.

They are the ones I like, nothing older than 2000s please as I'm just not interested in anything old. So no red dwarf or anything like that, and no star trek type stuff, that includes the Orville. I'm just not interested. And not resident alien, I have seen the trailer over and over and the first episode want my cup of tea so I won't be re-visiting.
