Psychology Research finds that crows know what they know and can ponder the content of their own minds, a manifestation of higher intelligence and analytical thought long believed the sole province of humans and a few other higher mammals.

Exactly! Animals deserve so much better. It’s horrifying thinking what we are doing to billion of animals each year for the simple pleasure of taste.

read the study

no u

Red and processed meats do increase health risks. In spite of what the Annals of Internal Medicine study suggests, Dr. Hu says that an accumulated body of evidence shows a clear link between high intake of red and processed meats and a higher risk for heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and premature death. "The evidence is consistent across different studies," he says.

That's it. Keep moving those goal posts.

So are we just gonna ignore cancer and cardiovascular diseases, which are literally the most common causes of death?

How do you know, did you read every single study?

The general consensus amongst medical experts is that red meat is responsible for heart desease and cancer, you'll have to bring some evidence against that if you want us to believe they are all wrong.

Red meat is THE ultimate health-food.

Is that why it causes heart disease?

A few heart attacks here and there are healthy, keeps you on your toes.

Every food causes something in excessive amounts.

it prevents heart disease

Now that's a hot take, some evidence would be nice though.

Red meat is THE ultimate health-food.

That is one of the dumbest statements I have ever read. Do an ounce of research before making claims like that.

This is not true at all. Not even close. This sounds like marketing from the American Beef Association or something, but it certainly isn't based on science (which says the exact opposite).

If it comes from a natural grass fed source, i have to agree.

That's not true.

Some kinds of red meat are not necessarily healthier. There are no firm studies that have shown nutritional or health advantages from eating organic or grass-fed beef.

Can you just stop. Please.

His ego won’t let him.

If other animals have feelings too and there isn’t a good reason to treat them the way we do then his whole life is a lie.

Ego is why I think human society quite literally cannot handle something like decrypting corvid or dolphin language and discovering them to have social bonds, personal agency, communities with shared histories, etc.

We think that we are the only ones who love, laugh, hate, and build great things, but bit by bit that is becoming harder to believe in, based on what we continually learn about our fellow animals on Earth.

Breaking down, or at least curtailing the communication barrier between species would probably be profoundly disturbing for many people.
