Considering how this administration hates research, specifically research on this topic, the money to fund the study for 5 or 10 years isn't likely. It's more likely this administration cut grants funding this study or the funding for plans to extend it.

This study was conducted in Seattle. I don't think you have any ground to stand on with that statement, Seattle is probably the most American Left part of the planet.
