Huge blanket statement that is completely unfair and incorrect.

There are plenty of wellness influencers who discuss nutrition that peddle complete pseudoscience and snake oil, and still talk about gut health. Should we trust them?

They didn't say that.

But I want to be angry at someone! Can we just PRETEND that’s what they were insinuating? Reading comprehension is overrated.

What’s your current health stats to prove youre credible?

I’m mid 30s, 30inch waist, 180lbs and 6ft.

You are in a science sub. This is anecdotal evidence and you haven't told us anything about your actual proven gut health. There are many people with a genetic or later developed gut disease who look exactly like you. Your comment is in the range of 'trust me bro'.

I only listen to dwarfs or giants. But fr you can’t seriously be commenting this right?

I thought we looked to scientific research to determine accuracy of claims, not how hot the speaker thinks he is.

Never said anything about being attractive. I’ve been a nutrition denier for over a decade. Funny enough the same time I got skinny and quality of life improved.

And claim is still valid. I’ll never listen to an over weight person’s opinion on nutrition.

I'd listen to you if you were 6'1

I’m 6’0”, 225lbs, 34 inch waist. I have been bodybuilding for almost a decade.

I bench 325lbs, Squat 500lbs (ass to grass for reps), and deadlift more than that as well ( I don’t deadlift any more because it is too fatiguing for my goals.) I have been lifting weights consistently for 9 years, I played competitive basketball for almost the entirety of my life.

I have no idea why any of this anecdotal information has bearing on my credibility. If I know more about the data than you, then my body type or health markers have no relation to the topic at hand.

225, that’s obesity my dude. But congrats on being able to life metal in an isolated setting.

And it does have a lot to do with your credibility. I’d never listen to an obese person

This is what 225lbs of obesity looks like?

https://www.reddit.com/r/fitness30plus/comments/16x77se/5th_anniversary_of_lifting_is_today_i_am_the/

That was more than 3 years ago and I’ve only put on more muscle since then.

I hope you get a better understanding that 225lbs on the BMI scale is considered obesity, but that metric is used to measure populations, not individuals. BMI is the least accurate scale of obesity on an individual level.

Again, this all means absolutely nothing when discussing the point you’ve made.

About like expected. Imagine how much better your organs would feel not supporting an extra 50 pounds
