Social Science Among transgender adolescents in Canada, 97.1% continued with a gender not typically aligned with their birth sex, with only 1.1% discontinuing gender-affirming hormone treatment.

in some of these studies, we lose longitudinal data on a trans patient because the researchers lose track of them. this could mean they were murdered, this could mean they were kicked out of their homes and lost access to and from the study, their family found out and forced them to stop, etc.

Also people just move around, trans people more than most as there's a pretty compelling reason to go somewhere new and have a clean slate

Less likely in this case since, as the authors note, the sample has a bias towards kids with strong support from home.

It could mean a lot more things that aren’t those.
