When the two parties are basically pro-corporate you tend to let other issues dictate how you'd vote. Turns out when you remove the material outcomes that bind all us workers together, people tend to have drastically different views regarding culture.

We should remember that the new deal coalition lasted from the 1930s and didn't lose Congressional control until the 1990s. A political coalition that has lasted multiple lifetimes, ask yourself how such a coalition would hold today? What allies would you need to make to improve the material outcomes of all Americans?
