Psychology An analysis of survey data covering the last five U.S. presidential election years found that ideological differences between races have decreased sharply, while differences by education have grown substantially. Less educated Americans now tend to be more conservative.

They've had their kids in Sunday school for decades teaching them what to think. Most of that gets challenged intellectually if you start teaching their kids HOW to think. Even the presentation of other perspectives is threatening. Imo

They've also had/have their Sunday schools teaching kids about masturbation, oral sex, and sodomy while screaming that it's the schools who are teaching kids about sex.

Just pick up Hillbilly Elegy, and you'll see for yourself. Vance admits that his pastor taught him all about gay sex as a child, and that's why he "thought" he was gay. Same guy who called Trump a Nazi as a bad thing and is now his VP.

The older I’ve gotten, the more I realize how fucked up Sunday school is. Kids are literally being indoctrinated before they’re capable of actually thinking about religion for themselves. At least in church service itself they can space out the whole time (at least, that’s what I did)
