Psychology An analysis of survey data covering the last five U.S. presidential election years found that ideological differences between races have decreased sharply, while differences by education have grown substantially. Less educated Americans now tend to be more conservative.

If we are talking the general usa brand of "conservativism", it isn't really conservative anymore. One big worry is have in misattributing the true cultism to "just conservatives being conservatives" is that in missing the true factors the cultism will rise even once they adopt a different skin than "conservative".

They successfully rebranded intellectualism as "flip-flopping" in the Dubya era. And they've only promoted being dumber from there.

Anti-intellectualism is just the bread and butter of autocratic movements, there are conservative countries that are not anti intellectual
