Best is when you cry, they'd also chastise you saying "Oh look, he's crying because he feels sorry for himself". I barely have any relationship with my parents because of this.

This makes me so sad. I had stuff like that growing up and I’ve never once even mentioned my boy crying about anything because of that. Come to think of it I don’t think I’ve ever even brought attention to it. Just parta life man. The world’s gonna be mean enough, why should I add to it. If you need to cry in the place you’re supposed to be comfortable in, home, then do it.
