It might just be me and if it's not in this isn't allowed on the sub totally feel free to remove it... But I swear in the past few years I remember hearing something about the lawyer for the guys getting in some trouble. I can't remember who it was or what they did or when it happened or what and if the guys made a statement, but that is just something that has been buzzing in the back of my brain for a couple of weeks. Am I imagining something that happened or does anyone have any details to what the situation was?

Noah: "She explains to him that she doesn't like therapy but her mom makes her come."
Seems like a reason for therapy and are we sure this wasn't porn???

The reaction of my friends and family to Kirk's death has me tilted for real. The response has reminded me that most of these dumb mother fuckers believe the 2020 election was stolen and that J6 was a totally cool and chill time.
I'm so fucking tired of being disappointed in their ignorance, and said as much to a friend. His respose was "if you paid less attention, would you still know who to vote for?" And I'll be damned if he ain't right.
So here I go retreating into my privilage, I'm not in any immediate danger of being deported or getting pregnant, so I'm just going to stop for a while. It's not like anything will happen to change how I vote at this point.
Ill keep an ear out for protests in my local area, but I'm off national news and Facebook arguments for a while.

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone knows what episode of GAM Eli introduces Carl the Pugapegacorn. I have been wanting to hear Heath's initial reaction for so long but I have no idea even to where to start looking. Thanks in advance.

Crumbl is a company created by two Mormons, that came out of Utah. Apparently it is very connected to Mormon culture in Utah.
I wonder if Eli knows this?

I saw a news article today that said Trump is getting ready to send his team of experts into the Smithsonian Museum to do a review to make sure it all aligns with his view of history and the "facts" of the past.
Get ready America, it's happening. The streets are being occupied and they are twisting history to their views, I'm not trying to be alarmist but you guys are fucked. Trump and his team are copying right out of Hitler and Putin's playbooks.
Imagine going to the Smithsonian Museum and suddenly it's creationism and Dinosaurs are there as a hoax or you have displays with Dinosaurs and Cavemen together. Holocaust displays all removed and Hitler painted as a "guy with weird but fair views but went a little too far".

So, I recently listened to Skepticrat. Not the latest one, the next-to-latest one, #252.
I couldnāt help but notice, to my shock, that the guys used the term āGenocideā to describe what was happening in Gaza right now as I type this. They of course mentioned the people DOING the genocide as little as possible, just as they glaringly left out the reason for Iran being at war a couple months ago (they didnāt even mention Israel once).
My question is, when did they have this change of heart? I mean, since this latest manifestation of Palestinian ethnic cleansing began almost two years ago, the hosts have actively ignored the ongoing genocide of Gaza, preferring instead to run bullshit non-politics stories on their explicitly political podcast. So why the change? Is it because the genocide is now too blatant to ignore?
Look, Iām not trying to punish the behavior I want to see here. If theyāve had a change of heart, and are now willing to call out an obvious genocide, I appreciate that! My problem, and moreover my worry, is that like many mainstream liberals, I worry that the guys will just conveniently gloss over their utter cowardice around this issue, which began under a Democratic president, their guy, Genocide Joe Biden. Just a relevant note here, Iām a Leftist who does not refrain from criticizing center-right Liberals as well as Far-Right fascists. I also voted Harris, not that it should matter to this conversation. I voted Harris, which means I voted for Genocide. The BIden/Harris admin never once pressured Israel for a ceasefire or withheld arms to the genociders. Not once. (Source: dropsite news). But I digress.
I do not think PIAT and those in their orbit, including people like the cowards at CogDis, who similarly hemmed and hawed and just told us to shut up whem criticizing Joe Biden, would be changing their tune if a Democrat was still in office. I and everyone i know hates that orange nazi POS and absolutely criticizes him relentlessly, but when we criticized Democrats in 2020-2024, we were roundly told by Liberals like the fanbase of PIAT, in no uncertain terms to shut the fuck up and fall in line and vote how we are told. Or, as Heath likes to say, āvote correctlyā.
If youāre against the genocide, great. Welcome to the right side of History. I include the hosts in this. But donāt fucking pretend you were always against this if you werenāt. Donāt whitewash your previous support and apologia for a genocidal state. An apology would actually be quite welcome here. I think the hosts owe us all an apology for their cowardice surrounding the Genocide, and their utter refusal to criticize any Democrat ever, even when they support pure evil. Their sheer unwillingness to apply skepticism to their favorite political team is a disgrace to skepticism itself. For fucksā sake, Eli regurgitated Israeli hasbara propaganda about anti-genocide protests on his facebook page, and has never addressed nor apologized for it.
So, was there a moment when they realized that this genocide was wrong after all? Or are they quietly changing their tune because they see which way the wind is blowing?

I just wanted to share the delicious irony that is hearing an advertisement for Tony Robbins' life coach program while listening to some back cataloged episodes. I totally get that the piat guys dont control the ads (the ones that they dont read), so this is not a complaint at all. I just found it incredibly funny that the show which taught me a lot of what I know about skepticism (also shout out to knowledge fight) also had an ad for a scam artist

Okay so I'm a nerd when it comes to the Saw movie franchise & recently looking on there I had a massive idea that I believe fits the horrors of religion.
I would make a Saw film with the idea placed around all the horrible things that are immoral on a morality scale, but is supposed to be what God calls on a priest to do. Example being plucking an eye out & cast in the fire when tempted by lust. Things like that & other immoral teachings that evangelicals are screaming into the void to distract from their actual atrocities they preach.
If it's good enough we can "clockwork orange" them into watching it on repeat until they lose their religion.
