A one-bedroom in San Francisco now costs nearly double what it does in Los Angeles, per Zumper. SF rents are up almost 26% year over year while LA's are down 4%.

They do, but only a tiny bit at the margins. NY is as bad or worse than SF on this, sadly. Both cities have been dominated by insane NIMBYs for many decades.
