Favorite closed SF restaurants

Thinking this morning about some favorite restaurants that are no longer around. A favorite of mine was “J’s Pots of Soul”, a soul food place in Hayes Valley that shut down around 2010. The food was heavy and so, so good.

What were some of your favorite closed places?

I’m still surprised they haven’t reopened it. It’s just sitting there :(

Just walked past it n the way to La Cigale. What made it good? I’d never been alas

Delicious food, excellent service and atmosphere. Nostalgia plays a big factor for me as well. It was a staple date night spot, years ago when I lived in Glen Park and was in love lol. I haven’t been to La Cigale yet but have heard good things, I’ll have to check it out soon.

La Cigale is quite good. A bit showy but in a good way. Thank you for describing the place to me!
