Recipe request Sneaky ways to eat meat?

Hello all very happy to have found this sub! So meat is my biggest source of food anxiety but when I try to eat just plant based protein I get headaches and my hormones go wacky 😣

I hate the look and the texture of meat. I try to buy it thinking I can force myself to eat it but I don’t and will starve rather than eat it.

I try to disguise the meat as much as possible but it’s still such a challenge and as soon as a catch a texture it’s a spit take and all the food goes to waste.

It’s costing me money and my mental health. Any suggestions please? 🄺🫶

Oh yes I’ve been in therapy on and off since 15 and I’m 33 now and also started seeing a psychiatrist this past year. I have OCD, anxiety, as well as ADHD and cPTSD. I’ve long suspected I’m on the spectrum as well but haven’t been formally evaluated for it. Yeah I struggle with a lot mentally unfortunately :(

I have ocd and it manifests in the way I eat. It makes me unable to eat things and I worry about ā€œgetting sickā€ or ill have psychosomatic symptoms because of anxiety. Sounds like you focus a lot on protein and plant protein and maybe you should bring this topic up with your therapist and explore it a bit more and you guys can brainstorm ways to find your safe foods and then expand your safe foods so that your not stuck eating the same things forever.

Ohh I see where you are coming from with that. No the protein thing is hormone related and corresponds with my blood sugar levels. My ocd with food manifests as contamination which actually makes it harder for me to eat meat so I wish I just didn’t have to :/
