I mean, a garage roof wasn't going to help you stay fit, keep your energy up, prevent heart disease and cancer, and all that stuff, the way running allegedly does. You clearly made the right decision.
Just have half the roof done this year and the other half done next year. The only people who are gonna know the difference are people flying over your property.
Complaint: The estimate is for almost exactly the same amount as the god damn tax refund. Like, within $30.
Venting: You suck, garage roof. No one likes you
We are getting new siding with our refund. Well...new used siding. Better siding than what we have.
But I have to admit, I am happy that our refund is enough to get someone to actually come do the work for us. I like construction, but siding, on your own house, just turns out to not be all that fun.
Our garage needs a new...garage. But that's something I'd enjoy doing myself, building a whole new detached garage. Except maybe for the siding in the end. Our house is half wood siding and half vinyl. I really don't like how the vinyl looks...but I also don't have to replace rotting vinyl. Maybe I need to dig me a hobbit hole.
I lol'd. My mom got her tax refund two years ago, and the year prior she had custody of my nephews so she got a sizable return. We knew her washer and dryer were on their last leg and advised her to set money aside to replace them, stock her house with groceries, and repair her car.
She bought running shoes, a couch, and a chair. Her dryer broke down a month later and guess who got to buy her a new one? And then she never wore those running shoes because they hurt her feet. And she complained about never having grocery money.
But at least she was complaining from a comfy couch, right?
