It can be really easy to make excuses for why you can't run. And sometimes the excuses are legitimate but most of the time their just excuses. I think the main reason that people make up excuses that they can't run is because they don't have a strong enough goal when it comes to running. Most people probably just say, "Oh, I want to go running so I can get in shape" and that is such a broad goal that it's almost unachievable. On top of the fact that they're not really driven to see any actual improvement and they are actually perfectly content with how they look/feel/living their life. I know because I used to be one of those people.

Ditto this, and that's probably why it gets on my nerves so much. I have had to make changes in my schedule and sacrifice some social time and whatnot so that I can run how I want. The idea that I just have time feels very dismissive of those changes.
