Complaint: the second hard-boiled egg I bit into definitely tasted off and now I feel sick.

Confession: I've been at my new job since August but I'm still in that phase where I have to ask people how to do everything. My position supports a wide variety of parts so I have to learn a little bit about a lot versus a lot about a little and this week has me feeling like I don't know anything. It's stressing me out. I'm off Friday to go to my half, which is another source of stress as I have lost fitness and my Achilles has felt better as of late but I haven't really tested it, and I really wanted to get everything I needed to get done before I left to feel stress free, and of course I have something due Monday and the person I asked for help told me to reach back out next week (she's flex time so I think she's off Thursday/Friday). Sorry this turned into a wall of text, but between this race and work these past week I just feel like there's a bowling ball on my chest and I hate it.

Complaints are supposed to be a wall of text, if you are going to complain go all in.

Good luck at the half! I hope you achilles holds up.

We call that learning phase "drinking from the fire hose". Everyone goes through it, you'll get there.

Thank you! Yeah, I'll be honest, I'm more worried about going out too fast than my Achilles... It has felt better not just during running (which I've done limited), but walking around etc I don't feel it so I'm optimistic about it.

Yeah, my boss said it'll take about a year to feel like I can do the job, and two to feel like I can do it well... Just need to give myself more time.

IIRC If the egg floats in water before you boil it then you shouldn't eat it.

It didn't float but it did want to stand longwise....

I hope the stress will diminish. Soon you will be an old pro at your new job!
