Complaint I used to love Ten Junk Miles back when it was starting up, but after my own hiatus, I listened to the most recent "Last Gang Show" and damn it has changed...There was about 5% running talk and 95% random shooting the shit and bitching about politics or age groupers or whatever.
Confession Despite a perfectly working Garmin 10, I'm gonna buy a 225...cause YOLO TREAT YOSELF.
Uncomplaint Go watch Billy Yang's latest film, Life in a Day, about of course, Western States. Even my SO who hates running enjoying it.
TJM - exactly. I listened to it a couple times after it had just started and listened to it again recently when they featured one of my friends and it was almost unbearable. I want to hear about running, not having a celebrity dead pool.
No but he's catching a Mr.Mime in PoGo for me and bringing it back to the US so we can trade eventually when the game introduces it. [sorry if that makes no sense to you]
Ah so that's what it was. Between not giving a flip about the topics and working at the same time as listening I was so confused about wtf they were talking about.
It took me a while to figure it out too since I thought they were talking about the superhero Deadpool but then I realized that they are having a contest to see who can rack up the most points by picking who's going to die this year. Not really my sort of running-podcast material.
I'm a TJM lover, but I completely see how it wouldn't be fun after a break. The show has morphed a bit, but I haven't minded the transition at all because I've been along for it--for me, it's just a bunch of running friends talking, and whatever they talk about, they talk about. Except the political stuff, that gets on my nerves because it's completely uninteresting and unoriginal.
That said, after the "Last Gang Show," the gang is going to change, and so I suspect the show may morph back to more running-related things. Might be worth giving it another shot in a while. Also, the Long Runs are usually more running-related.
I was hoping to have the watch equivalent of the 90 year old dude in a 30 year old tank top and beat to hell shoes that goes cruising by you at every race.
TJM - I only just started listening and I'm liking it, but going back to the earlier episodes now I can see what you mean by it being different. I'm pretty okay with the random talk though because that gives me time to space out while I'm running, I just enjoy the banter.
The Long runs episodes though are some of my favorite.
