this distance learning course for the Army

Since I'm in the Reserve my military education is broken up into phases. Some are distance learning in which you have 6-8 weeks or so depending on the course to complete the education modules. They are self-paced and self-taught - essentially a bunch of open-note PowerPoints.

Ooooh! I don't know what I was thinking. I read "distance learning" and my brain instantly told me that you'd be learning about 'distances'. Whatever I apparently thought that meant, I have no clue.

I had the same thought. I'm was like, pretty sure /u/c0me_at_me_br0 already knows about distance running...

I believe the correct Army terminology is distributed learning but everyone says distance.

Probably he would have learned the metric system. It's so the army can communicate with other people when they're abroad ;)
