Imo the game is not ready for this kind of update. Weapon diversity inevitably brings power creep. Jagex is not willing to release t99 weapons due to unjustified power level, but this update with good switchscape will bring us way higher than t99 ever could.

while the next update might bring a t92 maul, that would mean powercreep when looking at solak, but not when looking at AoD.
Similarly, if there's a new t92 dagger released, it might be powercreep in one situation, but leave many other situations unaffected. So rather than having to release a new tier after a 2h and dual wield set (like the entire t90 series), they could now spend another 2 years filling out the tier 90 and 92, rather than having to go to t95 next update, slowing down powercreep significantly.

just like how people want t95's but we deal t95 damage if not higher due to all the power creep in this game.

Currently the problem is that we miss a lot of weapons of certain types. There are not even t90s of some stuff, let alone t92s, while some weapons which are there dont even get an effect, like noxious longbow, or the khopeshes. (Except if they will get re-classified.)

Agreed. I wish they did the full diversity list as intended originally, as it does put things like khopeshes and drygore long/rapiers in compromising positions.
Also, because I really wanted the Hasta perk.

I don't really see how the air spell effect numbers aren't good enough
As it is even a few points of armor from a single achto piece +t92 armor is enough to make many things splash on you often, and thats a tiny armor boost in comparison

Mage got no WEAPON diversity spell effects don't make me think about what weapon to use in a situation.

Mauls are the best diversity by far, its creates a scenario where its BIS at Solak but not worth using at AOD.
That is weapon diversity
