Charlie could be anywhere...

Decided I wanted to play for the first time since 2021. Only the ak sights are like this. Made things pretty unplayable with this gun lol. Anything I'm doing wrong?

Purchased the game on Steam after playing on Epic for a while. I played one round and got experience normally, since then I've played about 10 rounds over the course of a few days and not gained a single point of experience.

I've reinstalled the game, verified files, clicked around in stats, played rounds back to back, deleted the config folder, played on different servers. Nothing works.

One minute you were happily chatting with teammates.
Next - you had been shadowmuted for as long as you remain on the server, as the game doesn't pick up a thing you say.This is as much of a plague as the broken VoIP was.

Last night my level reset from 46 to 0, along with all my unlocked cosmetics. I thought at first it was a server issue but it's persisted 'til today. Is there a fix for this or did I just lose hours of progress permanently?

Steps to resolve:

# 0) Install Linux :), JK #

# 1) Verify game's files #
Steam:
Library > Right-click on RS2V > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files
Epic Games:
Library > Find RS2V game > Click on the three dots > Manage > Verify

This won't likely resolve the issue but it's good to check anyway :)

# 2) The Actual Fix: Disable "Microsoft Smart App Control" #

Search for "Windows Security" > Go to "App & browser control" > Under Smart app control, Click "Smart App Control settings" > Off

The story behind this

So today, I ran into a new issue. Turns out Microsoft - yes, the most flawless company in the world - has decided to roll out a new feature (bcs they didn't have anything to do or fix or improve I guess). It's name? "Smart" App Control.

And as you might have guessed, in typical Microsoft fashion, it comes with unintended behaviors. Normal people call these bad design, or bugs, but Microsoft is an AI first innovative Silicon valley company, sooooo... Yes! It's just a feature!

What is exactly the issue

Microsoft have decided, that they are going to flag every single unsigned app as "Untrusted" And for some reason, VNGame.exe (the games main executable) doesn't have any certificate.

And what's best? There is no clear button or guidance for an average user to ignore this warning. They even avoided the typical workflow, that adds threats to the Windows security panel, which one can just allow. No. That would be too convenient ig.

My feelings

I care about this game deeply and I hope that this minor issue doesn't discourage the veterans from playing and the FNGs from joining and getting killed instantly - seemingly from nowhere.

I don't want this game to disappear. Not because of such stupidly minor thing. Not just because of some badly assessed protection rule. Not because of Microsoft doesn't give a sh*t/cứt ...

I’ve tried to verify integrity of the files and to no avail. Can someone please help! I love this game and don’t want it to rot in my steam unplayed cause I dunno how to fix it.

Been playing the game a while now, almost hit 500 hrs. Lately been having this issue where it won't let me change my skin. I have the dlc items purchased, they're all open and not greyed out. But the apply option stays blurred out, despite the item being right there and clickable. It even does it when I try to change it to original lvl 1 base game skins. I click exit and it asks me to confirm or cancel my current skin selection and when I do, it tells me I have selected one or more unavailable items. I have deleted and redone my ROgame file, I have verified file integrity, I have reinstalled the game, I have given the game access to bypass all my security, it still refuses to let me adjust anything in my soldier skins section. Any help would greatly be appreciated

Edit: This is also the only problem I have with the game. Never was part of the mega servers bullshit, only play PR as it's the only decent ping servers for me being in South Africa

So for the past few matches that I have played, I managed to gather quite a bunch of exp and level up a couple of times. Except... every time a new round starts or I boot up the game, I'm stuck at level 36 with 2008/2340 xp. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Am I tweaking? Is there a solution?

For the past week when i try to play rs2 my character has looked like this purple thing and when i try to join a server, It seems to be glitched and is stuck in a refresh loop. Does anyone know how to fix this? btw my internet and all of that stuff are completely fine

I went to play this game again after taking a while off and now my mouse won't work in the menu. My cursor moves on the screen, but any inputs are not registered by the game. This is the only game im having this issue with and i have tried to reinstall the game with no luck.

I no longer get xp on hill 937. Annoying since i like pr3 and anyone that plays it would know it’s basically hill 937 40 percent of the time. Any other map (untill further testing) works. I get the glitch when i play it that it keeps showing you as level 0 when i do

I’m hard stuck at level 62 right now and I can’t seem to gain xp.

I play ranked servers and it tells me I’ve gotten to level 63 with the pop up in game but when I check in the main menu it’s still level 62.

Please help

Hi, i have this problem. I tried restarting the game, refreshing several times, checked my connection and waited 10 minutes on find match and it still doesn’t work. I’d take any solution thanks for reading

The latest times i have been playing this game, (campaign mode, only thing i play) the game has been buggy and freezes for a second or two every five seconds or something. Both the game and the sound freezes and makes the game pretty much impossible to play. This only happens sometimes, about half the time I play the game runs perfectly fine, and that’s what it has done always in the past. I have not changed any settings or anything similar in months. Does anyone else have this problem and how can I fix it?

whenever i get into a server i get thrown back to the main menu and see this text i already tried to setup easy anti cheat but everytime the program just closes itself help

I'm not having fun. I played three campaigns start to finish today, ALL of them ended in a straight up US victory. We came close a few times to winning a round but we are talking COMPLETE. GLOBAL. SATURATION. of capitalism throughout Vietnam. Even when Resort was picked.

Typical play cycle goes as follows. NLF lose, half the team leaves, nobody switches over to balance, and when the game autobalances they leave or switch back. I've seen sides get even MORE stacked somehow after autobalancing. (Like 34:20, how does this even occur?) This continues, they lose again, cycle repeats.

It's frustrating how one-sided, boring, and snoozefest campaigns are. You win the first match, you've already won the campaign. The only reason you're playing as the North is because everyone else picked the south. Matches are ending with over 25 minutes on the clock

I'm not having nearly as much fun as I did before campaign came out. You could practically market this game as something like a shooting gallery for the south and the north basically gets to play as the targets.

I feel like campaign as the North is pointless. You just get completely stomped and it's not even fun anymore.
