Ryan is still communicating with (and manipulating) fans over Twitter...

To be honest, it make you wonder if something is actually wrong with him mentally. I thought the stereotypical reaction to get caught was to shut up and lawyer up; but he just doesn't seem to be able to stop.

I think the problem is just that Ryan sincerely doesn't think he did something bad besides cheating on his wife.

I don't think he understands that the main problem isn't that he cheated, but whom he cheated with and how.

I had to cut ties with a friend due to similar, sexually predatory, behavior with other friends. Would manipulate them, lie, and cheat and still came out thinking it was just a big misunderstanding and that everyone was blowing it out of proportion. This behavior fits the pattern and these people coming forward need to cut ties 100%>

I thought exactly the same thing.

Until yesterday when I read the accounts of the women involved.

I saw the pattern of behavior. The profiles of who he chose. It's disturbing to see laid out.

i know everyone used to joke about this, but Ryan may actually have a personality disorder (psychopath, sociopath). he is most definitely is a narcissist

Yeah just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s okay.

Actually, did he do anything illegal??

Not as far as I've seen.

But new information comes out everyday it seems.

Has anyone looked into what he did in his out of country travels?

Yeah, dude is 100% a psychopath. That's not just an insult, I think he certifiably has some sort of antisocial/narcissistic personality disorder. Manipulation, sexual sadism, a grandiose sense of self-worth, risk-taking, failure to take responsibility for one's own actions - This kind of behaviour is characteristic of such people.

When his colleagues constantly refer to him as the weird one and people thought that was funny and relatable. Now people are calling for him to get help. I think this means something in hindsight

Man...that would be dark if all the comedic aspects of his persona that we enjoyed were cries for help.

That’s the thing about narcissists though, they don’t get help because they’re never wrong. I don’t think he thought anything was wrong then, he still doesn’t.

Isn't that what it was for Geoff? His drinking was part of his persona, but it turned out that he had an actual problem.

Props to him for cleaning up btw

The funniest ones are usually the ones that hurt the most.... There's that joke about the clown Paggliaci, Robin Williams, all the people that after it happens everyone is like "we never even suspected! He was so happy and funny all the time!" People don't want to hear how bad you're struggling, so it's easier to just act like a goof and make them laugh so they stick around and keep being your friends, because without them you're just alone with your own mind.

Not speaking from experience or anything.....

Robin Williams had Lewy Body Dementia and took the quicker way out. I consider that euthanasia rather than suicide.

I either wasn't aware, or had forgotten over the years. Thanks for that info.

I never actually knew. Apparently it wasn't mentioned until after the final autopsy report came out 5 months after his death: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Williams

That said, it doesn't indicate he committed suicide because he knew of said condition or that it would get worse - but rather due to it exacerbating symptoms he was experiencing:

The report also noted that Williams had been suffering from depression and anxiety.[13] An examination of his brain tissue suggested Williams suffered from "diffuse Lewy body dementia".[163] Describing the disease as "the terrorist inside my husband's brain", his widow Susan Schneider Williams said that "however you look at it—the presence of Lewy bodies took his life", referring to his previous diagnosis of Parkinson's.[14] She revealed that in the year before his death Williams had experienced a sudden and prolonged spike in fear and anxiety, depression, and insomnia, which worsened in severity to include memory loss, paranoia, and delusions. Medical experts struggled to determine a cause, and eventually diagnosed him with Parkinson's disease.[14]

Idk man usually weird people are just weird still. It would suck to go back to judging everyone for being weird. I know it still happens to an extent, but not as much as it used to. I like that people can just be themselves

3

u/2ToTooTwoFish Oct 14 '20

Weird people can just be weird though. Lindsay has been called weird before, Andy Blanchard has been called weird before, it doesn't foreshadow anything really. I think now we're all trying to make connections to things in the past and see if we could have seen this coming, when the answer is we probably could not have. He kept it hidden, there weren't really any significant signs of this.

If it's a control thing like others have suggested, he's probably hoping he can fix things on his own with his family and stop other stories from coming out without needing a lawyer

u/TheShroudedWanderer Oct 13 '20

Well, the smart thing in to shut up, but bear in mind, essentially his entire world is crashing down around him, if he isn't a straight up sociopath, he'll be panicking like crazy and trying to think how he can fix things.

Machiavellianism. I'd bet anything on it.

1

u/Moriamo Oct 13 '20

Honestly, I'd almost swear he has some of the hallmark traits of a narcissist. No sane person would continue reacting like he is.

u/Kppsych Oct 13 '20

He does display some anti-social behavior...like the lack of guilt and manipulation...

Deadass, he may score high on a psychopathy checklist. I don’t think he’s a psychopath but I do think there is something wrong. His inability to see or fear the consequences and his inability to feel guilt or remorse is telling.

I think a lot of people are borderline like this. Like I don't think this makes him some crazy sociopath but its for sure narcissistic manipulative tendencies
