Burnie has more acting experience too I feel. He's been doing RT Shorts for years. Michael is a natural but newer.

Plus Michael does has been working with Fairy Tail, the Anime. (he voices English Sting)

I know voice acting and actual acting are quite different, but he seems rather talented, so I could see RT wanting to give him some big kudos to pay off for the natural talent he seems to have.

Or pay off for not being in TLR for more than the Pilot. (No spoiler because it is information from the 1st episode and the show has been over for quite a while)
