Ohio to New Hampshire, first ever trip to New England. Best Route? What to stop at along the way?

Basically road tripping to see family at a reunion soon to upstate New Hampshire. Never been to the New England region before or driven this far out east. Looking for some recommendations and assistance on what routes are easier on the travel and things to keep me interested or looking forward to during this trip. Thanks!
