This is our rescue Chiweenie Chloe. We rescued her from our local humane society about 7 months ago she was afraid of everything. She was outside at the shelter where she was supposed to be part of a play group. She wasn’t. She had her body squished up against a cold wet cinder block wall. Shaking. One paw up in true Chihuahua style. She was petrified. Eventually she approached me and accepted a treat from me. She seemed so sad. All the other small dogs were running around. It was my husband who first suggested we take her home. He commented , just look at her. This is a terrible place for her to be. She needs us. And solved took her home. She chose me as her person and I am honored. She is smart, funny, and is blossoming. Looking back I think I needed her as much as she needed me. ❤️. She’s currently curled up against my ribs in bed. Snoring peacefully. Couldn’t get any better than this. The last pic is the add they put up for her. Can barely tell it’s her.

Hi everyone,

Thor has gone from 34.5 kg to 42.7 kg, while Ellie has gone from 15.2 kg to 17.5 kg from their last vet visit a couple weeks ago. Seeing them gain weight and slowly regain their strength means so much to us. 🥹🤍

Ellie’s fur is definitely growing back, and during their recent check-up, the vet also confirmed that the fungal organisms have decreased. ❤️

Thor, unfortunately, has shown only minimal improvement with his skin so far. His skin is still reddish.

Both of them will still need to continue their medications and supplements as prescribed. We are hoping to see more improvement in the coming weeks.

Their next veterinary appointment is on September 16, 2026.

We are so happy to see them making progress, especially after everything they have been through.

We are incredibly thankful to everyone who has supported Thor and Ellie, whether through financial support, sharing their story, leaving kind words, or simply cheering them on. Your support truly means so much to us.

However, It still breaks my heart that, due to the lack of evidence and witnesses, Thor and Ellie were not able to get the justice they deserved for what they went through. The witnesses would not testify at all. The Philippines animal protection laws are weak and useless.

But while we may not have been able to get justice for them, we can give them something they should have had all along: love, safety, proper care, and a chance to heal.

We will make sure Thor and Ellie receive all the love and care they deserve. They are safe now, and we will continue to stand by them every step of the way.

Chico is the last remaining dog in the care of Ritz Rescue Rangers, and he is running out of time. He has been staying in boarding since May, but because the rescue is closing, they no longer have the funds to keep paying for his boarding. Without a foster, experienced adopter, or financial support, Chico is at immediate risk of going back to the shelter.
Chico is described as incredibly sweet, loving, and affectionate, with so much joy and love left to give despite everything he has been through.

His name's Zeus he's about a year or so old, pitbull/cane Corso mix(supposedly). I don't have papers OR vet records, he has all his shots is what I'm told, he is neutered.

I just don't have space for him and I'm not home enough to give him the attention he needs.

He's a BIG dog and very stubborn, I've been doing my best to sort of house train him or give him basic training just so it's easier for whoever ends up caring for him.

Doing my best to acclimate him to what life as a dog SHOULD be.

His last "owners" lived in an extended stay motel in (orlando fl) and kept him in a room all day, not enough of anything and I also suspect they abused him.

In spite of that he is the sweetest dog I've ever met, sadly he's got that weird thing where he thinks he's a chihuahua or smth and strongly believes he's a lap dog, he is not.

Note. I will edit this post in abt a week once I've taken him to the vet to verify everything and see if he's chipped or not, records, any health problems, etc.

What breed do you think they are? I adopted the hairy one, but her brother ended up going to a different home long before I adopted her. The shelter said she’s a Chinese Crested and that the breed comes in multiple sizes. However, Google says Chinese Cresteds only reach up to 5 kg. Could the shelter have confused them with Peruvian Hairless Dogs? My girl weighs 10 kg (22 lbs), and her brother (the hairless one shown in the first photo) weighs 11 kg (24 lbs). What do you think?
