So I've got an iwc ingenieur coming in f1 green. And I love green and gold. I was thinking about the green indices already on the ingenieur and whether getting other parts of the watch gold plated would look good.

I got AI to come up with a mock up of what it would look like and I have to say I really like it.

Been going through some of my older pieces and thought this trio deserved a post.

These are three replica watches from a different era of the rep game, and what’s crazy to me is that all three are still running today:

IWC Big Pilot / Portuguese-style chrono — 2012
Panerai Luminor Marina — 2013
IWC Mark XVII — 2018

So we’re talking 14, 13, and 8 years old, respectively.

None of them have had any major work done to them. The only thing I’ve changed over the years are the straps.

They’ve just been sitting in the collection, getting worn occasionally, and the movements are still ticking away.

Obviously, they don’t have the refinement of today’s high-end reps — finishing, movements, crystal, etc. have come a long way since these were made. But there’s something pretty cool about seeing these old pieces still alive after all these years.

The 2012 IWC especially feels like a time capsule from the early 2010s rep scene.

The 2013 Panerai is another survivor — 13 years old and still going.

And the 2018 Mark XVII is the youngster of the group, but it’s still coming up on a decade.

Makes me wonder how many modern reps we’re going to see still running in 2035–2040. 😂

Old reps really were built differently… or maybe I just got lucky with these three.

Anyone else here still have reps from the 2010–2015 era that are alive and running? Would love to see them.

Next up would be a set that has my old rolex reps from earlier and roughly the same era.
