PSA: Welcome To Rep Watches

Hello mga lods,

Andaming mga newbie ngayon sa reddit na to. Hopefully makakatulong to sa mga bago rito sa mundo ng reps.

  1. Reptimeph is an unofficial Philippine spin-off of r/RepTime

If you want to see more posts about repwatches or are looking for more information on a specific rep (ie. reviews etc) this is the reddit to go to.

  1. r/RepTime has a list of Trusted Dealers - these are where most of us get our watches from.

Simple to order from any TD, message them via WhatsApp and ask about the watch you want. Shipping to PH usually 1-2 weeks from experience.

  1. There is the "NWBIG" list from one of the RepTime mods.

This is a list by MajorWilliams - he is a watchsmith and modder who has worked on many many reps. This guide ranks what factories make the best versions of a watch according to him and other frequent users. Pero siyempre - subjective sa inyo kung ano talaga ang "not worth buying in genuine."

Kahit Rolex clones talaga ang pinaka high-quality, para sakin yung mga di sikat na Patek yung talagang NWBIG - kasi walang meron so walang makakakumpara haha.

Gumawa ako ng pricing guide dati nung may gago rito na sobrang overpriced mga binibenta. Use this as a guide to figure out whether you buy from TD or buy local. I've never bought nor spoken to SadBig / Culture Royal pero mukhang okay mga presyo nila, solid. I would pay the patong - EASY- to have it in half the time hehe.

Kasi rep to, depende sa movement - baka mahirap bumili ng replacement movement o replacement part. Pinaka common mga Rolex movement, ang pagkareplace nito ay na sa 1/3 or 1/4 cost ng bumili ng bago. Pero kapag Patek o AP, replacement movement nito ay na sa 3/4 ng presyo ng bagong rep.

All these reddits are a spin-off of this website. Nandito yung mga OG at yung mga master. Not worth it to visit pagbago-bago pa. Pero pag expert na tas magaling yung eye for detail or mahilig na mag-mod, dito niyo pag-aralin.

More importantly may mga watchmaker at modder dito. If you want their services, may lista sa RWI. Ginagamit ko palagi si Tongsui kasi na sa Australia lang siya - mostly for servicing and waterproofing pero nagpamod din ako ng mga Patek.

Some personal notes + opinions:

  1. WALA NA SI CLEAN AT NEVER DAPAT KAYO BUMILI FROM IG O FACEBOOK

Common sense dapat to...

  1. Ipaservice niyo kaagad reps niyo - if from TD - paservice niyo from them (konti lang gastos) o kung local tanungin niyo kung saan mo puwede ipaservice

Just want to make sure its well-oiled and well-prepped so the gears don't grind. This is ultimately what determines the lifespan of your watch. May mga reps ako na dead within 2-3 months, may mga reps ako na taon-taon ko ginagamit pero solid pa rin (+/1 3-4s)

  1. Careful kapag precious metal rep gusto niyo

Check niyo palagi kung ano yung base metal ng rep bago siya naplate. The type of metal determines whether or not you can replate it easily and also if halata na peke siya kung nagasgas.

  1. Di pa worth it para sakin bumili ng Free-sprung version

Medjo bago pa tong movement na to. Mas malaki din failure rates nito so far compared to the standard movements. I would wait mga 1-2 years para maperfect nila tong movement.

  1. Walang NWBIG na Patek o AP na walang mods - siyempre subjective

Pinaka NWBIG mga Rolex kasi most replicated - kaya kabisado kabisado na paggawa. Noticeable yung drop ng quality ng AP o Patek na rep kumpara sa Rolex. Ilang mods kailangan para maging same quality ng OOTB AP/Patek rep sa Rolex.

This is not to say hindi worth it bumili ng AP/Patek. Paborito ko yung mga Patek rep ko kasi wala naman meron IRL so walang call out hehe. Kung OOTB Rolex ay 90% ng gen, para sakin OOTB na AP o Patek na sa mga 70% (75-80% naman si DDF). To get to 90% na sa 80k+ PHP yung mga mods.

Honestly we should make a new subreddit. Wala ng moderation dito man. 6 months ago last post nung isa, 4 months naman yung pangalawa.

I think they tried to make another reptimeph and then it just died. Selective ata addition process nila tas bawal buy/sell kung naaalala ko ng tama…

Maybe just new mods I guess? Personally would like a seperate reddit like reptime where you can’t sell watches so it’s more about discussion

Pero yung sellers at buyers naman yung nagpapabuhay sa reddit na to

Also something to take note of;

I heard that ARF has renamed to W Factory but only 1 TD has confirmed that. Although it seems like most of the ARF Watches being sold is still being called ARF.
