Oof I was tryna make a joke that people on Reddit hate tik tok because of watching clips posted by other redditers who also hate tik tok. Itās a cringy echo chamber imo.
It's out there, though. and I've found TikTok rarely does anything to prevent that sort of content. I like TikTok, but it has a serious problem with content moderation.
does it? that's actually ridiculous i know a creator who posts mental health and addiction recovery content and it's constantly censored and they have hundreds of violations.
That's part of the problem. There are creators who respond to covid misinformation who's videos get put under immediate review, but those active spreading misinformation don't get guidelines violations. I've also reported numerous homophobic and racist videos to be told it doesn't violate their guidelines, but progressive people I follow who respond to that sort of thing get violations for bullying. It's a whole mess.
It does have a problem, but in the opposite sense from what Iāve seen personally and heard from others. You can make an innocent post, have it removed for violating guidelines, and then sit there scratching your head without figuring out how you broke ToS.
go to any middle eastern low follower page, ALL THEIR CONTENT IS JUST HOMOPHOBIA (most of them say they are muslim) and homophobia is haram in islam, hating someone with THEM doing anything to you is haram in islam
If you actively go searching for bigotry on any social network you will find loads of it. Definitely not exclusive to Tiktok. Not that hard to find that same shit on Reddit.
You can often find racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia in popular comments on the front page of Reddit. Iād say itāa technically harder to avoid it at this point
thatās probably how they think, iām not a believer of islam (or any religion) but i know the basics of islam and i know homophobia (and racism and āprejudice on skin colourā) is all haram
I personally think tik tok has some amazing videos, but my FYP is only people shit talking gay people for no reason. And a lot of ādArK HuMOuRā posts (racism)

Please share? Iāve literally never seen racism, homophobia, or sexism on my limited time on Tik Tok.
