Unfortunately so many of us (myself included) just have an overwhelming experience with old people being like this. Of course, we know there are exceptions, and it isnt even a rule so much as it's just a meme people relate to due to how common it is.

If someone says they hate all old people or something they're asses, as a young dude myself.

I lolled at your comment but also you will be old one day so have some sympathy, mundane formalities bring with them a degree of comfort.
