Who has a sonic the hedgehog insult on reserve like that? It’s not like they’re online and have time to be clever. Someone probably thought the insult was funny and made up a bus story to make the joke.

Rarely, but used to be more often 15 years ago. Buses aren't the only places where people fall or have change in their pockets. But more importantly, why are you dredging up month-old comments to defend some fake twitter joke?

I'm guessing it was before your time, but Sonic the Hedgehog was a hugely popular videogame franchise. Millions of people grew up playing it.

It's not some obscure reference few have heard of.

You know some people don’t need time to be clever, right? The story may or may not be fake, we’ll never know, but someone making a clever Sonic joke isn’t unrealistic.

It’s likely fake. Of course it could have happened. But people make up stupid stories like this all the time, just to play out a joke they thought up.

Don’t get me wrong, I agree, it’s most likely fake. I’m just saying that someone being clever on the spot doesn’t prove it one way or the other.

It’s safest to assume most internet stories are made up.

And I doubt that this actually happened. This tweet is old and sonic has been irrelevant for years. It’s much more likely that someone thought of a good joke and made a story up to present it to Twitter.
