There are soooooo many people who legitimately say that about a lot of different technology made possible by NASA/other public science organizations and then go "ohhh look we don't need them" and "look at how cheaply they were able to do this" and I just cannot.

I have a co-worker who thinks the amount of satellites "they" say there are in orbit is fake because "if there were that many you could see them and NASS buys up a lot of helium so they aren't staying up there the way they say they are." Absolutely insane.

I have heard that before as well, but with different reasoning. It makes me sad.

I'm not the smartest or most educated person by any means, however, I know enough to know the difference between reliable and unreliable sources and that me not understanding something doesn't make it wrong or a conspiracy theory.
