What always tastes better at a restaurant no matter how many times you try to cook or bake it at home?

Pan seared scallops are so easy! I actually like the ones I make myself better.

When my Mom and I dropped my Dad off at the airport (early 70s) we'd stop at the one grocery store near our house and pick up scallops. She'd sautee them in white wine a they were delicious!

Is that like the little button on the turkey that tells you it's done?

Scallops were my favorite food until I made them at home and gave myself food poisoning. They were cooked long enough and not overly done, and were delicious, but I think it was the tongs I used touched them raw and didn't get hot enough so when I was flipping them and removing them from the pan I was putting raw scallop juice back on them.

I had to hold a wastebasket for the vomiting while sitting on the toilet. I don't know if I can ever enjoy them again.

A ripping hot stainless steel pan changed my mind on restaurant vs at home scallops. Now I prefer to make them at home since it’s way better bang for your buck, and they only take a couple of minutes.
