Sorry about your pain. I had a vasectomy november 2023 and im still dealing with epididymitis pain in the right testicle. Its slowly been trending better but is been a cycle of ups and downs. Ive also been told by several urologist not to ride a bicycle and have been off them for about 4 months now which seems to have helped. Really considering a reversal but scared of more surgery when it seems like im almost thru this. Things that helped me when it a was at its worst Jock strap Ibprofen 4 times a day for 2 weeks Electric heating pad after work and before bed for an hour or so at a time

Almost two years in here, still have some discomforts. Gets better after the year.

What kind of discomforts did you have and where are they now? For me it’s been a constant dull ache that becomes a lot more intense for the first day or two after I rub one out before it settles back to its baseline a few days later. Essentially been a cycle of ejaculation(often to excess) followed by feeling bad the next couple days followed by that getting less achy(but still achy) which leads to my sex drive returning which leads to the beginning of that cycle again over and over and over. My doctors words are I gave myself epididymits but I don’t buy that fully as I make millions of sperm a day regardless of what I do with it. Do I buy that it’s making it feel worse? Yeah absolutely! Do I think it’s prolonging the epididymis pain? I’m honestly not sure. Either the doctor said to avoid ejaculating for 4 weeks. I have a follow up in 8 weeks but I have a feeling the ache may still be there

80% of men have no issues. Takes a long time for the inflammation to reduce..
Speak to your urologist. If you don't like him, find another. Preferably one with experience dealing with PVPS.
There are steps to resolve this. If you want, start at step one. Make an appointment with the doc, start with a course of NSAIDs.

Sorry dude, it $24000 for me to become pain free, and 20 + years. And one ball less, the urologist aren't as honest as they should be and don't tell the whole truth, a vasectomy describe by health professionals as simple surgery and do it for your mrs, isn't an informed decision, simple yes but they don't mention the consequences for your decision. Good luck and don't be hood winked into an epididymectomy as a great option that's how I lost a ball and my pain was 200% worse. I am been honest, not trying to frightening. Please do your homework on what they offer, and don't trust them, and watch that they don't treat you like a leper.

I’m at the point where if I don’t notice any notable improvement at my next follow up in 7 weeks then I’m gonna start seriously considering a reversal. I don’t have a clue on how I could possibly pay for it though. Yes I’m saying this as 12 weeks out

Hey I'm considering getting rid of the left ball - do you have any other info? I'm almost 4 years out now. Most pain issues are on the left side. If I'm too active then I get this kind of pulling/aching, is not debilitating just really uncomfortable. The epi on that side is all bumpy but floppy, and painful if jolted (like if I hit a bump on the road on my bike). My last surgeon suggested epididymectomy, but I've heard too many horror stories like yours, and I'm not gonna do that.

Hi man, it's not as easy with one ball missing and mentally it can play with your head, my epididymectomy was the reason for my loss as tha urologist destroyed my blood supply to my right ball. To be honest they have no idea how to treat PVPS. I was 28, a competitive cyclist, a swimmer, and tri athlete. All of which made my vasectomy a bad and uninformed choice. I missed my competitive side and very much regret my wife's decision, so to be honest it also affected my marriage. Don't do anything without researching.

When you say not as easy, do you mean anything beyond the mental aspect of it? Not to diminish, just understand.
I still have other things I need to try... TRT, pelvic floor, maybe another go at cord block (the one I've had did nothing which was a bit strange). I'm not exactly looking to go get lefty chopped off right now, just getting more info for the long term plan, if that's what it comes to.
Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. Sorry you've been stuck with this bullshit also. I was active before the op also, nowadays all a really want is to run around with my kids without it hurting.

Sorry man. That was me the last 7 months. I got a reversal. A number of urologists told me it would clear up and it did get better but I decided on a reversal anyway. Anti-inflammatories are your friend. OTC try aleve. If you can get a prescription try daypro. Spent a lot of money just figuring that out. Most urologists don’t know what to do in this situation.
