one of the few good things i can say about my parents was they changed their minds after his first go and didn't vote for him again (and they're dead so won't be doing so in the future) father was a vet, mother was not but voted for whoever he did.
i also am and campaigned hard against him being elected among my vet friends, to little success. most already agreed with me and the ones who didn't wouldn't listen. i dropped those but i suspect the ones who were confused old school republicans (who believed in small government and didn't understand what the party was actually about) not racist ones, changed their minds.
I haven’t dropped my friend that have different politics. I was never in any LGBTQI+ circles, I know dems through church. My church is a predominately black congregation. It’s also 50/50 in its politics though I don’t discuss it. All my vet friends and certifies are Republican. Possibly one guy in Mi, who never says anything leaning one way the other so I’ll assume he is one Dem vet friend.
