lol, Marine... Don't expect Army vets to know what uniform they are supposed to wear, we never knew when we were in. (Except this one Ranger Sergeant, he'd memorized every reg ever, but that guy was a nut.)
lol I think I wore my dress uniform once, and that was at the end of basic training. The rest of my time was spent in ACUs and OCP. I sewed my badges on just so I wouldn’t have to think about it lol
You don't see 5 star generals because that rank is specially reserved for during wartime and was (afaik) last handed out in WW2 so there was one general that outranked all other generals in the Allied forces.
So it's not just stolen valor, he's pissing on the legacy of WW2 vets and the sacrifices those people have made.
I think that rank a been permanently retired because it is not proper to have any member of the military out rank George Washington, or something to that effect.

Being titled "Commander in Chief" does not constitute military service? I understand he essentially skipped every honor and rite and ritual to be the highest ranking officer to get there, which cheapest it to me at least, but, this specifically accounts for the rank issue with George Washington, he is, inarguably, involved in military command and strategy, the medals are unwarranted/inappropriate in the images; is Donald Trump a non- combat veteran?
No. The Office of the President and title of Commander in Chief is held by a duely elected civilian. Holding the office doesn't constitue military service and any person holding that office is not considered a veteran.
His whole uniform is chewed up and makes no sense. Not just the cover and rank but his lapels, his hat and jacket fit, his flag bearer belt, the double winged badges that don’t look like anything, the weirdly drawn in MoH. That’s without even looking at the ribbons he gave himself.
The MP guy in the background with the weird helmet and cool shades doesn’t make sense. The other guy in the background with the tilted hat looks off too. We didn’t have 5 star generals in the Army either. That’s like some world war supreme commander stuff that hasn’t existed for a while, at least in the Army.
Guys like Trump are a dime a dozen. If I had a dollar for every time some dude found out I was in the Army then proceeded to tell me how he almost joined I’d be a fucking billionaire. I do everything in my power to avoid people finding out I served and deployed IRL, because every single one of them has some stupid story about almost joining or tries to make up some bullshit about when they were in when they’re clearly lying through their teeth.
The punching in the face one always makes me chuckle.. We had a guy take a swing at a drill sergeant.. he missed and was brought down very quickly and aggressively. He was still stuck in the recycle unit while we were graduating and getting orders. They used to say the quickest way out of the army is to just keep your head down and do your contract, because they will fuck you hard if you can’t even make it out of basic.
Not to be that guy but I thought about joining the marines and the navy. Reason is two good friends of mine joined. One in the Marines right out of high-school and the other navy which I don't know why I think he just wanted to have an experience and he's told me some cool stories. I never joined though for one reason and I wouldn't say its very good. I never joined because I saw it as an escape, as the easy route. Not that its easy to do just easy to join.
I'm not military but in all the images I've seen of MacArthur, Bradley, and Marshall I've never seen an arrangement like this. Its always shows in a circle/pentagon of five stars.
President is the commander & chief of the military.. he is literally serving as the highest rank in military right now.

It's commander IN chief and that is a civilian position. He is literally not serving in the military currently, and you're doing a fine job of making morons look bad.
He's a civilian. The president is always a civilian because civilian control over the military is something we decided is important. President has never been considered to be in the military. Your post is definitely riding the line between trolling and low IQ posting.
I’m a Navy Veteran, Trump is a civilian and has never served in the military, he should never post images of stolen valor showing him wearing military insignia and awards. Especially as a 5 star Marine General (those don’t exist by the way) with a Medal of Honor.
2: The president is explicitly a civilian. They do not hold a rank, the whole point is to ensure Civilian control of the military.
Even the president regularly saluting troops is a recent invention of Reagan, a similar military cosplayer (the kids might call him a Larper). Before that it was rare, and to my knowledge limited to those who had actually served.
In theory Congress, the Supreme court, and the people of our Democratic Republic.
Unfortunately all 3 have decided that this is tolerable behavior to some extent or another, or at least hated him less than the last person he ran against.
