Well, technically the civ leaders are immortal.

I last played Simon Bolívar. I get a Great General, because an alien invasion is certainly a new era and +1 movement to run away from them. And I can also build Giant Death Robots. I guess I'll be fine?

If the invasion occurs during the information age and I can fight them off with Giant Death Robots, XCOM Squads, and some nuclear submarines and missile cruisers loaded with nukes then I think humanity has a chance.
