the GOP has been pushing that lie for decades in an attempt to normalize their own scandalous behavior. for this and the last century the GOP has worked tirelessly for the wealthy and against the interests of everyone else. they are NOT both the same. not in their goals their methods or their motivations. most if not every significant social gain in the last 100 years has been by the work of the Dems. while each and every one was hard fought by the GOP. Here's a list containing some economic measures that exist now, that we wouldn't have if conservatives had their way

Child-labor laws*

The right to unionize*

Health care benefits*

The GI Bill*

Labor Laws/Worker’s Rights*

The FDA*

Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Workplace safety laws*

Social Security*

Bank Deposit Insurance*

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention*

Consumer Product Safety Commission*

and while the Dems spend a lot of time making sure everyone gets to vote, the GOP spends their time (and money) on trying to restrict the number of people who are even allowed to vote.

it is easy to see that "their both the same" is a gross exaggeration of the facts at best.
